Description:

Teradata is hiring a Senior Cloud AI Engineer to design, scale, and maintain the next-generation multi-cloud infrastructure powering its core AI stack and Autonomous Knowledge Platform. This high-concurrency role is engineered for infrastructure professionals who bridge the gap between heavy cloud operations and emerging generative AI tools. Rather than simply writing basic code, you will design large-scale distributed systems supporting automated multi-cloud deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will build self-service developer productivity platforms, write secure RESTful APIs, manage containerized traffic using mesh networks, and construct robust observability pipelines while experimenting with agentic AI models to optimize internal cloud runtime boundaries.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent quantitative discipline from a recognized institution.
• 4+ years of verified professional experience specializing in cloud infrastructure engineering, systems networking, or modern enterprise DevOps pipelines.
• Direct, hands-on development experience configuring core public cloud provider components, specifically AWS, Azure, or GCP network layers (VPC/VNet architectures, API Gateways, multi-region compute clusters, and cloud storage paradigms).
• Advanced proficiency engineering reliable, repeatable, and version-controlled environments using Terraform and package management templates via Helm.
• Production-level experience deploying and scaling multi-tenant applications inside Kubernetes clusters, container engines (Docker), and managing microservice traffic using service meshes like Istio.
• Strong programming proficiency in backend languages like Python or Go for internal microservices development, combined with advanced system automation scripting using Bash.
• Deep structural familiarity managing progressive automated release environments utilizing tools such as ArgoCD, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Foundational familiarity implementing database service access patterns across SQL or NoSQL databases, combined with preferred exposure handling high-throughput messaging structures like Apache Kafka.
• Working experience defining configuration parameters using tools like Chef or Puppet, ensuring strict adherence to Identity and Access Management (IAM), security compliance, and platform observability metrics.
• Practical exposure leveraging AI-powered development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) alongside a strong interest or baseline experimentation in deploying Agentic AI frameworks or Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Demonstrated leadership soft skills to manage complete project workstreams independently, review code blocks for optimization, resolve system performance bottlenecks, and mentor less-experienced engineering peers through structural design phases.
